Popis Job satisfaction is the most researched job attitude. It has repeatedly been shown to be positively related to other work attitudes, work motivation or job performance, and negatively to burnout or the tendency to leave the organization. Job satisfaction is measured both in research studies and in organizational with aim to improve employee satisfaction and job performance in companies. In addition to overall job satisfaction, some surveys focus also on satisfaction with different facets of work. This approach is particularly widespread in organizational surveys, as it makes it possible to better identify the sources of possible dissatisfaction. At this moment, there is no validated and standardized Czech multi-facet questionnaire which would allow companies to compare their employees' satisfaction with industry standards. This paper presents a project that aims to create a standardized Czech questionnaire that will be freely available for research and organizational surveys, and which should help to improve the quality of job satisfaction measurement in the Czech environment. The new questionnaire was designed to measure overall job satisfaction and satisfaction with seven facets of work: with job content, working conditions, financial compensation, supervisors, co-workers, opportunities for professional growth and communication within the organization. We selected each facet based on how frequently it appears in foreign job satisfaction questionnaires and how strongly it relates to overall job satisfaction and other desirable variables. Subsequently, we created a total of 130 items based on the facet definitions. From these, we selected the 67 items that best and most fully captured each facet and we included them in the pilot research. The pilot research was completed by 100 university students who had worked for their organization for a minimum of 2 months and for at least 24 hours per month. Based on the analysis, we selected 4 items for each of the eight subscales. We selected the items to fully cover the breadth of the facet and to have sufficient variability and contribution to the internal consistency of subscale. Pilot analyses suggest that all subscales have sufficient internal consistency and are positively related to overall job satisfaction as measured by a three-item scale from the Job Diagnostic Survey, to organizational commitment as measured by KUT-scale, and negatively to the tendency to leave the organization. The new Czech multi-faceted job satisfaction questionnaire (MFWSQ) has 32 items with a seven-item response scale divided equally into eight subscales. Each subscale also includes one open-ended question allowing the employee to specify the most significant sources of satisfaction or dissatisfaction in that area. In further phases of the project, we will pilot the questionnaire in the environment of Czech companies as a tool for conducting satisfaction surveys. Furthermore, we will assess the content validity of the questionnaire using a panel of experts. Further quantitative research will then focus on assessing the validity and factor structure of the questionnaire. If we obtain sufficient support for the quality of the questionnaire, we will aim to obtain a large sample representing the employee population of Czech organizations and to develop Czech norms. The questionnaire is already available for research purposes from the co-authors.
