The practical traineeship will be focused on two projects of projects that are undertaken in the department, dealing with HSR rail infrastructure and its influence on mobility.
The knowledge and skills to be acquired are related to three main topics:
1) Increase of the basic knowledge of the software PTV Vissum. The training will be focused, not only on technical modeling but also in terms of geographical approaches, which would be a very valuable benefit.
2) Cognition of the way of thinking about high-speed rail-related topics, in terms of geographical and planning perspectives at one of the top European departments.
3) In the case of high-quality work, the trainee will improve his skills in the elaboration of technical reports related to the projects above-mentioned, participating as a co-author
Martin Vrána presented the following paper:
- International services on high-speed railways in Europe: system offer or a patchwork?
at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Annual International Conference, taking place at Newcastle University and online from Tuesday 30 August to Friday 2 September 2022.
The paper was a part of the 375: Mobility and Transport session which took place on Thursday 1 September 2022.
