Department of Business Management
The Department of Business Management was established in 1999 in connection with the modification of the structure of branches of study at the Faculty of Economics and Administration, as a result of the fusion of the Department of Commerce and Department of Management. The department is led by doc. Ing. Mgr. Jakub Procházka, Ph.D.
The department offers various courses, which enable students to understand activities of an enterprise in their whole context, as well as the relations of the enterprise with respect to its close and distant environment. Specialised courses thus deal with management, marketing, human resources development, logistics, psychology, etc. The department provides bachelor, masters and doctoral study programmes in the field of Business management and a bachelor study programme in Business informatics.
Our mission
Our mission is to equip our students for a variety of business positions so that upon graduation they will be able to create value for the stakeholders and for the society as a whole. We help our students to grow into responsible and self-confident leaders or experts with high integrity, high ethical standards, and the ability to learn continuously. Our mission is also to contribute to high quality research with both local and global impacts. Such research helps us to become a recognized part of the international academic community, to expand common knowledge in business-related topics, to cultivate our field in the Czech environment, to help local organizations solve their problems, and to provide our students with current and relevant knowledge.
