Free market of professional interests at FEA
Transport, travelling, business, finance, innovations, non-profit organisations, etc. These are the topics, which our researchers and institutes have been actively dealing with: they stimulate and interest us.
We study economic, spatial and social functions of transport, and we work on their development. In doing so, we are supported by the Institute for Transport Economics, Geography and Politics (ITREGEP). Our goal is to become a bridge between transport experts and decision makers.
Our specialised work site, the Tourism Institute (INCERU), focuses on regional development and tourism. Within the scope of research and education, we cooperate with important domestic and foreign university work sites.
We understand the sustainability of business in a broader sense as the ability to survive over time, to be resilient in the event of external shocks. In order to study the sustainability of business, the Research Institute for Sustainable Business was established at the Faculty of Economics and Administration in order to improve the cooperation between involved units and institutions in supporting scientific activity, sharing findings between the faculty and practice, and, last but not least, improvement of teaching and studies.
Masaryk University Experimental Economics Laboratory (MUEEL) was established in 2016. MUEEL seeks answers to a variety of questions using methods of experimental and behavioral economics not only in the lab but also in the field.
Innovation in Regional Development
The Research Institute for Innovation is a platform focusing on the cooperative research of innovations in regional development. The goal of the institute is to join professionals from various spheres of social sciences, whose common approach will enable to explore the issue of innovations from various perspectives, e.g. as an important competitive advantage for organisations.
The Centre for Non-Profit Sector Research explores the condition and development of the non-profit sector and civic society. Our experts draw up expert opinions, discussion documents and strategic recommendations for both public and political discussion on this issue, in cooperation with domestic and foreign experts.
The Institute for Financial Market deals with the issues of the financial market, protection of consumers, financial literacy, with an emphasis on its practical applicability, and other related topics. For example, we try to help improve the financial literacy of socially disadvantaged citizens of the Czech Republic.
The Institute for Public Administration (IVS) deals with activities in the area of research, development or application on the borderline between the university environment and public administration. The motto of the institute is to “join and innovate”, i.e. bring innovative ideas, join interested parties, support best practices and share experiences, etc.
Financial Complex Systems
The Institute of Financial Complex Systems provides a multidisciplinary pole of expertise in both fundamental and applied research on risk analysis, financial market development, investment decisions, economic and financial fragility from the perspective of complex science.
