Meaningful solutions for an ageing population
In 2023, the Czech Republic was the 21st country in the world with the highest proportion of people over 64 and the 29th country with the lowest proportion of children under 15. The AGEING-CZ project aims to find solutions to the economic, fiscal and social challenges associated with population ageing.
Digital solutions for circular economy
EU countries recycle 42.5% of e-waste. But many are failing to reach the 65% target. The international team of the DiCiM project, led by Associate Professor Alena Klapalová from ECON MUNI, sees a possible solution in circular economy systems based on recovering value from, for example, discarded appliances.
Better life for patients with dementia
In many European countries, there is a growing need for palliative care for residents of homes for the elderly with dementia. An international In-Touch project team led by University College Cork and involving scientists from the Health Economics, Policy and Innovation Institute (HEPII) is looking for a solution.
Adaptable workplaces, healthier people
The working environment has a major impact on the health, satisfaction and productivity of employees. The international SONATA project team is looking for ways to better adapt offices of different types to the needs of workers through adaptive architecture. Researchers from ECON MUNI are part of it.
Digital Regulatory Sandbox
The regulatory sandbox is a platform that aims to help with the legal and technical testing of new technological solutions in regulated industries and to achieve compliance with applicable legislation. The project is implemented by the CzechInvest agency in cooperation with ECON MUNI and other partners (Mendel University in Brno, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem). The aim of the project is to create and launch a pilot digital regulatory sandbox that will provide an adequate technical and regulatory environment for testing and supporting new FINTECH and DLT solutions.
