Description The policy paper is one of the outputs of the project South Caucasus at the Intersection of Interests, which was implemented in 2021-2022 (applied research project). The text focuses on a comprehensive mapping of the security situation in the South Caucasus and the Black Sea region, particularly with regard to the interests of key actors: the Russian Federation and Turkey, but also some other actors playing an important role in this wider region. Of these, the greatest emphasis is put on the possible role of the EU and other Western actors in the wider region. Contextually, the paper is set in the reality of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and also in the context of Czech presidency of the EU Council in 2022.
