Description The book focuses on the development of the railway industry in Germany in recent decades, when the country underwent a fundamental reform, including market liberalization. It was created within the broader edition of the Railway Reform and follows both the theoretical view and practical examples from selected European countries. The publication combines historical-political, geographical and legal views. It shows the political principles of the current railway reform, including the effects of the German reunification in 1990, characterizes the transport-geographic situation, its legal framework and selected problems that have arisen during its course. Despite the demonstrable success of the railway sector reform in Germany, controversial areas still arise, and the search for solutions remains a continuous process.
