Description Reforms in government and public administration combined with the use of information and communication technology (ICT) has brought many innovations in the public sector, including telework as a form of organizing work outside the employer's premises. This structural change in the organization of work aims to increase efficiency and, in some cases, cost-effectiveness, but also requires some investment in implementation. The goal of this paper is to analyse drivers and barriers in implementation and use of telework at the local government level. In this paper we use qualitative and quantitative approaches based on data from own research conducted within a research project LIPSE. Key findings highlight the factors that influence the use of telework in Slovakia, documented by the 86 participating municipalities.
