Description The goal of the paper is to highlight the issue of evaluation process of projects financed from public programs based only on the ex-ante data. The paper describes the risks connected with the absence of important parameters or socio-economic impacts related to the cost-benefit analysis or feasibility study in the ex-post project monitoring documents. The issue is analysed using the comparative method, comparing results obtained on the basis of ex-ante estimates of input values and the results gained from the actually measured values (results of the ex-post evaluation). Case study is prepared on the example of 10 projects concerning the investment to the cycle paths granted from the ROP Southeast, where 7 out of the 10 projects were overvalued with the average deviation by 65%.
