Dear ladies and gentlemen,
On October 31, 2024, the regular mandate of the current dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration Masaryk University (ECON MUNI) will come to an end. Therefore, the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Economics and Administration (AS ECON MUNI) has announced the election of a candidate for the dean's position.
The Chair of the AS ECON MUNI and members of the Election Commission for the election of the dean's candidate within the set deadline accepted nominations for the dean's position at MU for the term 2024–2028.
The candidates are:
prof. Mgr. Jiří Špalek, Ph.D.
doc. Ing. Vladimír Žítek, Ph.D.
The candidates have submitted all prescribed documents and have thus met all the requirements to be considered by the AS ECON MUNI for a recommendation to the rector of Masaryk University for appointment to the position of dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration at Masaryk University for the term 2024–2028.
The candidates have developed a program outlining their visions for the direction of our faculty. The election program and other documents can be viewed here.
At the same time, an unmoderated discussion forum has been established, serving as a platform for the academic community of ECON MUNI to discuss with the dean candidates.
A public hearing of the candidates for the position of dean will take place on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Administration at MU. The election itself will occur at the election meeting of the AS ECON MUNI, which will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 12:30 pm in the auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Administration at MU.
The elected candidate will be proposed to the rector of Masaryk University for appointment as the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration at Masaryk University in accordance with the provisions of the Rules of Procedure of the AS ECON MUNI.
Poor air quality has significant economic impacts on people's health. A team of scientists from ECON MUNI and the RECETOX centre has been preoccupied with air quality in Brno since 2021. They have even involved in their research children from several primary schools. Dr Dominika Tóthová, Associate Professor Vilém Pařil and Dr Ondřej Mikeš answer the questions.
