Programme Overview

Do you want to participate in the development of your city or region? Do you want to increase the standard of living of their inhabitants and attractiveness for tourists and investors? Are you interested in why some regions are economically and socially less developed and how to improve their situation? Or do you want to understand the functioning of individual tourist destinations and the impact of tourism on the given area? So study Regional Development and Tourism programme!

During your studies, you will better understand the development conditions in specific localities. You will find out what, for example, the presence of companies, well-educated people or tourist attractions can mean for the region. You will gain an insight into the functioning of regional and innovation policy and the principles of granting subsidies for developmental projects. You will also learn how to prepare these projects so that you can get money for their implementation. You will look into environmental topics and find out what tools can be used to prevent environmental pollution. You will also try practical tasks from tourism management and marketing.

Graduate Employment

Graduates of the program will acquire competencies that will enable them to pursue their careers in both public and private institutions, from the local to the transnational level. Potential work opportunities include more demanding professional positions in state or territorial administration and self-government, regional development and tourism consultants (e.g., in development companies and agencies), project and destination managers, or investment analyst and consultant positions. They can also work in middle and higher managerial positions in companies.

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees: 95000 CZK (cca 3700 EUR) per year.

Tuition fee for the first year of studies (3,700 EUR) is payable at the beginning of the semester. Students will obtain detailed information on the method of payment along with the decision on admission to studies.

Follow-up Studies

Successful completion of the program may help you apply for our full-time or combined PhD programs offered in English or for similarly oriented programmes in the Czech Republic or abroad.
