Dean's Awards

The aim of the competitions for the Dean's Award is to promote the quality of publication outputs of academic staff, to motivate young academic staff to achieve excellent research results, to strengthen the prestige of scientific work in the field of economic sciences and to appreciate its contribution to society, to motivate students to achieve excellent study results and excellent final theses. The competitions are announced annually.

 

Competition for the Dean's Award for the Best Publication

The aim of the competition is to award the best scientific papers prepared at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of MU and to promote the quality of scientific work and publication outputs of the faculty's academic staff.

The prize is awarded for an article with a significant scientific contribution that

  • is included in the Web of Science database as "Article" or "Review" in quartiles Q1 or Q2 according to AIS,
  • or is listed in the Academic Journal Guide in the category 4*,4 or 3,

or for a scholarly monograph whose quality contributes significantly to current knowledge.

All publications from the publication records in the IS MU that meet the competition criteria are automatically nominated for the award. The announcement and presentation of the award is part of the programme of the FEA MU Academic Meeting.

Until 2021, the competition was announced separately for the category of the best scientific monograph and the category of the best scientific article.

Competition for the Dean's Award for Young Scientists up to 35 Years of Age

The aim of the competition is to motivate students and young academic staff of the faculty to achieve outstanding scientific research results, especially in the field of publication activities, and to strengthen the prestige of scientific work in the field of economic sciences at the faculty.

The prize may be awarded for an outstanding book or journal publication in the field of economic sciences that brings new knowledge and represents a contribution to the relevant field, or for participation in a prestigious international scientific research grant competition, or for a requested presentation at prestigious forums of renowned institutions from the public and private sectors.

Proposals for the award are collected through the Research and Projects Office  by the deadline set in the competition announcement. The announcement and presentation of the award is part of the programme of the FEA MU Academic Meeting.

Competition for the Dean's Award for the Best Result with Social Relevance

The aim of the competition is to enhance the prestige of scientific work in the field of economic sciences at the faculty and to recognise its contribution to society.

The prize may be awarded to academic staff of the faculty or to PhD students for an outstanding result of applied research with significant social relevance or importance for society, the field of economics, state and public administration.

Proposals for the award are collected through the Research and Projects Office by the deadline set in the competition announcement. The announcement and presentation of the award is part of the programme of the FEA MU Academic Meeting.

Competition for the Dean's Award for Science Popularization

The aim of the competition is to motivate academic staff and doctoral students to engage in activities related to the popularization of science for the public and to recognise their contribution.

The prize can be awarded to academic staff of the faculty or PhD students for outstanding outputs and activities in the field of popularization of science for the public (e.g. activities for schools, popularization articles, media appearances).

Proposals for the award are collected through the Research and Projects Office by the deadline set in the competition announcement. The announcement and presentation of the award is part of the programme of the FEA MU Academic Meeting.

Competition for the Dean's Award for Innovation in Teaching

The aim of the competition is to recognise the outstanding work of university teachers, to highlight examples of good practice and significant innovations in the field of educational activities, and to stimulate discussion about quality teaching.

The Dean's Award for Innovation in Teaching is awarded to faculty teachers (including doctoral students) for their creative and innovative approach to teaching, technical support, and the introduction and development of tools and methods leading to improved teaching quality. The award can be given for the area of teaching or for the area of teaching support.

Proposals for this award are collected through the Study Department (Zuzana Mikulášová) by the deadline set in the competition announcement. The announcement and presentation of the award is part of the programme of the FEA MU Academic Meeting.

Competition for the Dean's Award for Outstanding Dissertation Thesis

The aim of the competition is to motivate PhD students to produce high quality dissertation thesis.

The prize may be awarded for a dissertation defended in ordinary dissertation deadline and graded "A-Excellent", which will be proposed by the dissertation defense committee immediately after the defense has been conducted and evaluated.

The collection of proposals for the prize takes place throughout the year through the Research and Projects Office. The announcement and presentation of the award is part of the programme of the FEA MU Academic Meeting.
