Stays abroad 2021/2022 and Covid-19

Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic negatively affected opportunities to study abroad last year. And how will it be this year? Is it worth applying for study stays? We believe so!

Although it is difficult to predict how the world's epidemiological situation will develop, we believe that in the next academic year, students will once again have the opportunity to go abroad for study stays or internships.

Selection procedures for stays for the academic year 2021/2022 take place in the standard regime in the pre-announced dates of a specific program.

You often ask us what will happen, if you decide to apply, are selected, but the epidemiological situation at the time of departure is not favourable. In such a case, it is possible to move your nomination from the autumn to the spring semester of the given academic year (unfortunately it is not possible to move stays between two academic years). If you are not interested in moving the mobility period, it is possible to cancel your nomination completely without penalty. Don't worry; no one will force you to go abroad if the situation is not safe.

Many of our partner universities also offer new virtual or combined mobility options. Therefore, if it will not be possible to travel abroad, you still have the opportunity to study online courses of your choice at a selected foreign university, which will then be fully recognized in your studies at the FEA, as in the case of traditional physical mobility. In case of purely virtual mobilities, no scholarship is paid because students do not incur the costs associated with staying abroad. An exception is in the Ceepus program, which pays part of the scholarship for this mobility type in some countries.

If you have any questions regarding the possibilities of stays abroad, do not hesitate to contact the FEA Office for International Relations or the Centre for International Cooperation MU.
