Description This publication deals with territorial evaluation of quality of business environment and regional competitiveness, on the basis of which proposal of long-term regional development strategy of the Czech Republic was elaborated. Quality of business environment is defined by means of 16 main factors on the whole (business, labor, infrastructural, local, price and environmental factors). Appropriate micro-regional (territorial units of 205 so- -called authorized municipalities of 3rd degree) and mezzo-regional (kraje as territorial units NUTS 3) analyses are presented by unified way and consecutively aggregated in synthesis. Broader assessment of regional competitiveness thereafter also includes results of analyses of enterprise innovative potential and utilization of human resources as other components of original integrative theory of sustainable regional development. Closing proposal of regional development strategy of the Czech Republic comes out from three developmental scenarios (progressive, growth and adaptive scenario), in the framework of which basic priorities and corresponding measures oriented on regional level NUTS 3 were established. The publication is notably valuable by its complex and market oriented conception (including website with 29 map supplements) and so it can be used not only in the field of creation and implementation of regional policy, but in entrepreneurial sphere as well.
