Description In its first part, the paper discusses implications of definitions of modern public administration for current administrative practices. The role of evaluation as an inevitable part of all management activities is emphasized here. The issue of evaluation is further discussed in relation to the phenomenon of e-government in the second part of the paper, which focuses on selected foreign and Czech approaches to evaluation of public administration electronization.
