Description A plan to increase a share of energy production gained from the renewable sources has been proclaimed and ratified in most of the European countries. The usage of so called clean energy has become a global challenge that raises big social controversies on a local and regional level though. The paper purposes to analyze the significance of particular localization and realization factors of wind power projects implementation and tries to find associations between the spatial diffusion of the phenomenon and territorial socioeconomic indicators. The other analyzed aspect is a subjective perception of the phenomenon (risk perception, motivators, etc.) from the perspective of social actors including the residents of concerned areas and local administration.
