Description Regional analysis is focused on new member states of EU, i.e. states of central and eastern Europe, that entered the EU in 2004 (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Slovenia) and in 2007 (Bulgaria and Romania). These countries are analysed on regional level NUTS 2 (regions of cohesion). The objective of realized socio-economic analysis was to evaluate economic level of regions and to create their typology on this basis. Several indicators characterising regions were chosen so that the study is comprehensive as far as possible. Average value was calculated for each indicator. It was important for increasing of study predictability. We used intervals based just on average values and standard deviations for cartographer illustration.
