Description The paper analyses the impact of population age structure on the economic perspectives of contemporary economies. The age structure approach is a new branch in the old debate of the economic consequences of demographic change. The changing age structure is affecting economic growth through changing redistribution pressures, labour supply, savings rate and human capital.
