Description Publishing of certain data that give evidence about the state or the course of Czech economy has significant backward influence on the economy itself. If the published result is favourable, rational economic agent will ceteris paribus “believe” in the economy (and vice versa). The fact whether the published result is expected or not is also important. Unexpected good results may stimulate the economy as well as bad results may slow the economy down. Based on the results of analysis of differences between original estimates of GDP and their revisions, the article concludes that the inaccuracy of original estimates of the gross domestic product is equally significant as the uncertainty of individual revisions.
