| Description | The article shows the evolution of opinions on monetary policy and its effectiveness. Basic words like effectiveness and monetary policy are defined in the beginning. Opinions of schools of economic thought on monetary policy are introduced. Special attention is paid to IS-LM-BP model and its implications for the effectiveness of monetary policy. Other contemporary approaches to monetary policy and its optimality are outlined. The results are summarized in Conclusions. |
