Description There has been world wide vast development of mobile telecommunications during the last ten years. However Czech Republic doesn’t have the best conditions for growth of mobile telecommunications, she still outruns many of the foremost countries. Despite of relatively small population and low purchasing power, Czech Republic ranked 4th worldwide in the rate of mobile phones penetration with 95 subscriptions per 100 inhabitants , in 2002 sent Czech mobile users about 5 billions of SMS, which was the highest number per user and Czech mobile carriers were several times awarded for implementing technological innovations. This paper is an attempt to analyze mobile commerce in Czech Republic in time of launching UMTS by two mobile network carriers.
