Description The goal of the contribution is to report about the development and regionalization of tourism in the Czech Republic on the threshold of a new century. The contribution has been divided into three parts. The first part is focused on presenting general statistic data (e.g. economic indicators of tourism) and figures about inbound and outbound tourism in the Czech Republic and in Czech regions. The other part of the contribution deals with the process of regionalization of tourist destinations within the Czech Republic, including graphic presentation of determinate tourist regions and their attractiveness. Final part delineates current trends in Czech tourism. Furthermore, it evaluates the influence on the development of tourism caused by the membership of the Czech Republic in the European Union.
