Description In 2000, 40 new share issues in the total volume of 13.924 milliard crowns were emitted on the Czech capital market (6). The condition of no introduction of primary issues (IPOs) into the market persisted. So far, the companies have not regarded IPO as a convenient and accessible tool for getting means (funds) for further development. There is not a sufficient number of investors willing to invest in new issues. In the past, the legislative problems were underestimated, and currently, they rank among the weakest links of the Czech capital market.
