Description Psychological capital is a relatively new concept that emerged in the field of positive psychology. It represents a relatively stable psychological state that makes an individual more capable of coping with challenging situations and maintaining well-being. Psychological capital includes hope, self-efficacy, resilience, and optimism. This presentation summarizes twenty years of research on psychological capital, particularly research in the context of organizations and work psychology. The presentation highlights the positive outcomes of psychological capital for individuals, teams, and organizations. It also discusses the development of psychological capital and the ways in which it can be enhanced in adulthood. Moreover, the presentation addresses current trends in psychological capital research and especially how Czech and Slovak psychologists can take it into account in their research in organizations. Attention is also paid to the limitations and existing criticism of the concept of psychological capital.
