Description The goal of the municipal risk management is to protect the municipality's assets, employees, and citizens from loss, damage or injury through the promotion of procedures designed to prevent incidents from occurring. The conditions differ in every municipality because of differences in amount of municipal assets, natural conditions and different range of programs which regional insurance companies have to offer. This paper is focused on municipal insurance as a part of municipal risk management designed for protection of citizens and properties from loss caused either by a human failure or nature. Municipal insurance proceedings attempt to effectively reduce the effects of incidents which do occur through various methods of loss reduction, risk transfer and risk financing.
