Description This paper deals with an interesting and actual topic of participatory budgeting. The implementation and experience with participatory budgets differ in various countries. The aim of this paper is to identify the positive effects that participatory budgets should theoretically have on several aspects of public administration at the local level and also on relations with citizens. The main goal is to analyse the attitudes towards participatory budgets in the Czech Republic. In order to confirm or disprove the hypothesis that the Czech approach is rather positive, the authors conducted a pilot research study for which they used online questionnaires that were sent to local officials. The results are presented in this paper as well and confirm the hypothesis. Description, analysis, comparison and synthesis are the methods used for writing this paper.
