Description Bleuler in his book “Dementia Praecox, or the group of the schizophrenias” described basic forms of mental disorganization in schizophrenia related to “loosening of associations” (Bleuler, 1950). In this historical context disorganized symptoms are currently understood as important factors of cognitive disturbances in schizophrenia, especially in patients with first episode psychosis (Minor and Lysaker, 2014).
