Description The goal of this contribution is to identify current trends and needs regarding a tourist industry in rural areas with focus on the South Moravian Region in the context of one of the integrated approaches that is the community led local development (CLLD) which is realized by a local action groups (LAG). The problem is solved with the help of a content analysis of strategies of a community led local development (SCLLD) and their financial plans. These strategies and plans were completed during 2015 and 2016 by all LAGs with the use of principles of strategic planning and with the involvement of the public, local experts and other participants acting on the given area. Main problematic areas of a tourist industry in rural areas are therefore identified and discussed including their quantification. The paper shows that local action groups underline in particular the development of cycling and agrotourism.
