Field Corrosion and surface processing of materials
Keywords plasma; discharge; plasma jet; atmospheric pressure; surface treatment; surface modification; nanotechnology; surface energy; adhesion
Description In the field of surface finishing is generally accepted that the surface energy is one of the decisive criteria for adhesion of coatings, paints, adhesives and specialty coatings. The higher the surface energy, the greater should be the adhesion. Based on the results obtained in the field of surface preparation or plasma ionization has not shown a direct correlation between surface free energy of the coated materials of different technologies and the resulting adhesion of paints and adhesives.
