Description The aim of this paper is to analyze the long-term (period 1950-2011) and mainly contemporary (2008-2012) trends in population change and age structure and its spatial differentiation in the districts of Bruntál, Trutnov and Hodonín, distinguishing natural and migratory population movements (2008-2012). Attention is also paid to the category of municipalities below 1,000 inhabitants, where the situation was different compared to the district development. In general, the population growth is concentrated mainly in the background of district centers and population loss occurs in the peripheral parts of the districts. The total population change is significantly more affected by migration. The big problem of all monitored districts is population ageing.
