Description A result of inflow of foreign direct investments into the Czech economy is the creation and development of the sector of enterprises under foreign control. Their share of gross value added increased between 1995 and 2010 six times and in 2010 was 30%. The share of employment in this period increased five times and in 2010 was 20%. Foreign-controlled enterprises also showed a higher long-term productivity compared to domestic enterprises. The paper analyses these phenomena for the Czech economy as a whole and for selected industrial sectors and tries to figure out the causes of this situation.
