Keywords China Czech Republic imports trade structure high-tech
Description China has seen its exports to growth immensely and in the same time it managed to shift its exports towards more sophisticated goods which are typical rather for export structure of a developed country. In this paper we focus on the development of Chinese export structure which is being compared to that of the Czech Republic. We conclude that we can observe similar trends in the Czech Republic as in the overall trend in Chinese exports. But the development of exports to Czech Republic is more dynamic due to the low level of trade shortly after the velvet revolution. We also show that the changes in Chinese export structure might lead to growing competition for Czech exports.
