| Description | It is difficult in economics to find for more explosive and controversial topic than industrial policy. Debates about its effectiveness divide not only economists around the world into two irreconcilable groups. In this article, we try to offer a new perspective for this debate and suggest a shift to a new-pragmatic level. First, we describe the term of industrial policy and the importance of industry for the world economies. Subsequently, theoretical and practical aspects of industrial policy and differences between them are presented. In the final discussion, we propose to focus on design of industrial policy which would ensure that industrial policy will meet its objectives. |
