From Acceptance to Arrival:

💰 What is the tuition fee?

• 95,000 CZK per semester – all bachelor’s programmes, Business Management (MA), Finance (MA), Public Administration (Administration Publique, MA), Public Finance (MA), Regional Development and Tourism (MA).
• 120,000 CZK per semester – Applied Health Economics (MA).

💳 Do I really have to pay the first two semesters upfront?

Yes. This is a faculty-wide rule.
There are no exceptions, regardless of country, scholarship, embassy requirements, or personal circumstances.

🛏 I need accommodation NOW! What should I do?

Relax — MUNI dormitory reservations open in January.
There is no advantage to writing early emails; you cannot reserve a room before the system opens.

Please read this website before contacting us — you will get your answers much faster, and truly, most questions we receive are already explained here.

If you’re a non-EU citizen, getting your Czech visa is your #1 priority right now. The process can take a while, so start immediately — seriously.

To apply for your visa, you’ll need two official documents from us (both in Czech):
✅ Confirmation of Acceptance to Studies
✅ Confirmation of Accommodation

• These are hard copies — embassies will not accept scans or PDFs.
• By default, we send them by regular mail. If you are in a hurry, you can arrange an express courier (at your own cost).

• If you need soft copies (for example, to make an appointment at the embassy), you will find them in your e-application under “Other documents.”

💸 Tuition Fee

• 95,000 CZK per academic year — Bachelor’s programmes and most Master’s programmes

🕒 Payment Deadlines

Depending on when you start, the tuition fee must be paid in full by:

📅 December 31 — for February intake

⚠️ No extensions are possible, so plan ahead and don’t leave it to the last minute.

💳 How to Pay

You’ll receive an email with a link to the MUNI Shopping Center, where you’ll find your individual payment details and options.
💡 Everyone must use the Shopping Center link — regardless of the payment method you choose.

You can pay:

🏦 By bank transfer
🌍 Using Convera 
💵 In cash at the ECON MUNI cashier’s office

• Use the exact bank details and variable symbol/reference provided in your Shopping Center order. It helps us match your payment correctly in the system.

• Double-check everything before confirming the transfer.

💰 Important:

• For your first and second semesters, the full annual tuition fee must be paid by the deadline — no installments allowed.

• From the third semester onward, tuition is paid per semester.

💸 Refund Policy

What if something doesn’t go as planned?
✅ You’ll get a full refund if your visa or residence permit is denied
🔄 In other cases, refund requests are reviewed case by case. If approved, a CZK 6,500 admin fee is deducted

TL;DR: Refunds usually happen, just not always 100%.

🗓️ When Can I Reserve a Bed?

Dormitory bed reservations for first year students in English-taught programmes (February 2026 intake) open on:

The date changes every semester — if a newer date isn't listed here yet, it just means we don't have it confirmed. No need to email us — we’ll update this page as soon as it’s available.

Due to high demand, it's super important to log in and book right at that time — or as soon as you can after.
👉 Late reservations = fewer options or no beds left.

💰 Reservation Deposit – Important!

To confirm your reservation, you must pay a reservation deposit within 5 days of booking. It is strongly recommended, however, to sign the contract and make the payment asap.

• The deposit = CZK 2,000 + 30× the daily dorm fee (Check the price list above for your dorm's daily rate)
• Payment is made via the SUPO system
• Activate your SUPO account immediately after booking

• Your reservation will be cancelled if you don’t pay the deposit on time

😬 What If I Don’t Get a Spot?

Tried to reserve a bed and the dorms were already full?
📧 Don’t panic — email Mrs. Pavlicová at pavlicova@skm.muni.cz as soon as possible.
👉 Use your MUNI email if you can, or include your UČO (student ID number).

Can I book earlier than the date above?
Sorry, no early reservations are possible. The system opens at the same time for everyone, and we can’t make individual exceptions. Set a reminder and be ready to log in when it opens!

Can I reserve a single room?
Single rooms are limited, and they’re assigned on a first come, first served basis through the reservation system. You can indicate your preference during the booking process — and if one is available when you log in, you'll be able to reserve it.
🕘 Be ready when the system opens — acting fast gives you the best chance of getting the room you want.

Can’t get a dorm, or prefer to live in a private flat? Start looking early — especially for September, the housing market gets competitive.

• Always be cautious of scams – never send money before seeing the flat or signing a verified contract
• Join MUNI and Erasmus Facebook groups — students often post when they’re moving out
• Check if utilities and internet are included in the rent

📌 Still want a dorm?
Even if the dorm system shows all rooms are booked, try emailing ubytovani@skm.muni.cz about two weeks after the semester starts to check for last-minute availability.

⚠️ Warning signs of rental scams:

• The landlord refuses to meet in person
• You're asked to rent without seeing the flat (even virtually)
• No working phone number is provided
• They request a deposit before signing any lease
• The lease is full of grammar mistakes and has suspicious stamps
• No clear info about the flat's location or nearby services
• The price seems too good to be true
• They don't ask questions about you or your background
• You're asked to sign an incomplete lease
• They are not the actual owner (you can check ownership here - CZ only: https://nahlizenidokn.cuzk.cz/)

🔍 What is it?

It’s a formal check to confirm that your high school diploma (or equivalent) is valid in the Czech Republic.
It’s not the same as admission — it’s a separate process required by the government.

📌 What do I need to do?

❓“I already uploaded my diploma when I applied — do I really need to send it again?”

Yes — and we get why that’s confusing! Even if you uploaded your diploma or transcript in the e-application, we ask you to submit it again for the verification process. Why?
➡️ Because this step is handled separately from your application, and we need to collect the correct documents in one place to process everything efficiently and on time.

⏰ When should I do it?

As soon as possible. The Ministry of the Interior asks us to confirm whether this step was completed — especially important for visa applicants. Plus, we can’t enroll you unless your diploma has been verified and recognized.

✈️ When Should I Arrive?

We strongly recommend arriving in Brno between February 5–7.
This gives you time to:

• Get over the travel stress 
• Move into your accommodation 

• Settle in before Orientation Week starts

🗓️ You can arrive earlier — even from February 1 — but keep in mind:
📋 We can’t enroll you officially until Orientation Week starts
❌ That means no student status yet → no student Wi-Fi, no student discounts (e.g. public transport)
✅ You can still use guest Wi-Fi at the dorms while waiting
If you do arrive earlier, just be aware that things may feel a little slower until enrollment kicks in.

❗ Please don’t ask to be enrolled before Orientation Week. We know you’re excited to start, but the team is focused on preparing your arrival and can’t process individual early enrollments. Thanks for understanding!

You’ll receive all the details, including the link to register for Orientation Week, directly from us by email.

You’ll get to:

• Get practical info about studies, accommodation, health insurance, and more

• Join fun social events and city tours 🏙️

You’ll be officially enrolled in your degree programme on the first day of Orientation Week, once you arrive in Brno.
🛬 You must be physically present to be enrolled — online or early enrolment is not possible.
📝 Course registration happens after enrolment and we’ll walk you through everything step-by-step during Orientation Week.

👉 Note: Enrolment is not required for visa purposes, so you don’t need to worry about this when applying for your visa.
