Verification of previous education

Verification of Foreign Education at the Faculty of Economics and Administration

If you want to be enrolled in one of our degree programmes and your prior education was acquired in another country, it is necessary for you to have your prior education formally verified by the faculty or recognized by responsible Czech authorities. Please see all the options below.

Verification

Based on the Directive No. 2/2019, the faculty verifies whether the submitted foreign educational documents entitle the applicant to enrol into the degree programme they were admitted to. Therefore, the verification is valid only for the specific programme you were admitted to within the specific admission round. The verification costs 800 CZK (you can pay for it here).

What documents do you need for the verification?

For bachelor study:

  1. Invoice of the verification fee payment
  2. Scan of your high school diploma (verified according to the rules here)
  3. A scan of a confirmation of accreditation of the high school:
    • A confirmation from a competent foreign authority (e.g. the Ministry of Education) that the foreign high school is authorised to provide secondary education in that foreign country. This document must be submitted in the form of an original or an officially certified copy with an official translation into Czech or English (translations are not required for documents issued in Slovak or English).

Please note that applicants who attended high schools under the British educational system have to submit at least 3 GCE A-level exams for the verification process.

For master study:

  1. Invoice of the verification fee payment,
  2. Scan of your BA diploma (verified according to the rules here),
  3. Scan of your Diploma Supplement/Transcript of Records.

For PhD study:

  1. Invoice of the verification fee payment,
  2. Scan of your MA diploma (verified according to the rules here),
  3. Scan of your Diploma Supplement/Transcript of Records.

Important notice:

  1. All submitted documents must be officially translated into Czech or English (including all stamps, notary clauses, interpreter clauses, certifications of the authenticity of signatures, etc.).
  2. It is necessary to hand over the originals or officially certified copies of your high school/BA/MA diploma and Diploma Supplement/Transcript of Records on the day of your enrollment. Basic copies cannot be accepted.
  3. Please note that the faculty may require a certificate from your previous school or other competent foreign authority stating that the graduate is entitled to apply for admission to study on the same level as they are applying to in that foreign country with the submitted diploma. This document must be submitted in the form of an original or an officially certified copy with an official translation into Czech or English (translations are not required for documents issued in Slovak or English).

How do I deliver the documents to the faculty?

After paying for the verification, please send us scans of the above-mentioned documents in one file to verification@econ.muni.cz.

When do I have to bring the documents in hard copies?

After checking the documents, you will be informed whether the documents are in the required form.

The documents must then be delivered no later than the day of enrolment to the Faculty of Economics and Administration, where the documents will be converted and the verification process completed. The documents will then be returned to you.
