MUNI ECON Working Papers in 2021

One of the ways to fulfill the principles of Open Science is to publish the results of your research in the MUNI ECON Working Papers series. The aim is to make economic research at Masaryk University more accessible, to encourage discussion and to get feedback from colleagues and other economists. MUNI ECON Working Papers are indexed in the RePEc database.

The database allows monitoring of a variety of indicators, including the number of text downloads or abstract views. In the case of the MUNI ECON Working Papers, these numbers are as follows (from the first WP in this series in 2012 to the present): number of text downloads 1613, number of abstract views 4549, of which last year 386 respectively 1250. The successful numbers are supported by the record interest of our researchers to publish in the faculty series last year.

At the core of the RePEc platform is the RePEc IDEAS results database containing approximately 2.8 million freely available results, with the vast majority of the 2.6 million records available as full-text. In addition to working papers, the database also includes articles, books, book chapters and software components. Working papers come from 4600 different Working Paper Series, and articles from 3000 journals (including journals from leading publishers such as Elsevier and Springer). To date, approximately 2000 institutional archives have been created and over 50,000 authors have registered in the database. Many leading universities in the USA and Europe make their research results available through the Working Paper Series in the RePec IDEAS database. Among the Czech institutions contributing their Working Paper Series to the database are researchers from CERGE-EI, the Institute of Economic Studies of the Charles University, and the Czech National Bank.

The MUNI ECON Working Papers can be used to publish papers that have not yet been published in a journal or book. The vast majority of journals allow the publication of preprint articles in the form of a working paper. You can check the Open Access stance of your target journal here.
