Green City course within the international alliance EDUC

The Green City course opens up new opportunities for international education in the field of environment and urban planning. It offers students expert lectures on air pollution and its relation to health, mobility and the circular economy. Students will then work with students from partner universities to develop their own projects, which will be consulted with experts from the Brno City Council and can be used in conceptual decision-making on the future of urban planning.

How to survive polycrises: The ROBUST project shows the way to more effective governance

The ROBUST project, in which Masaryk University's Faculty of Economics and Administration is involved, organised a workshop in Brno in September where researchers from ECON MUNI presented the results of their research on the coordination of public institutions. The focus of the meeting was how to strengthen the preparedness of the state and local governments for crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, and why cooperation at the local level is key to effective and robust governance.

AIR Academy at ECON MUNI: students learned how to measure air quality and how laboratories work

ECON MUNI hosted a two-day AIR Academy for primary and secondary school students in November. Under the guidance of chief organiser Zdeněk Šerý, they visited leading scientific facilities, assembled their own pollution measurement sensors and gained practical skills that can be used in everyday life. The programme was created as a university project, connecting experts with the younger generation.

Christmas kindness Day at ECON MUNI supported Nojmánek Home and introduced Czech Christmas traditions

Before the Christmas break, ECON MUNI students and staff came together to celebrate kindness, community, and giving at the traditional pre-Christmas charity buffet. Every purchased refreshment helped support the Nojmánek Home for People with Disabilities, while enjoying Czech Christmas traditions and festive atmosphere.
