The World Health Organization (WHO) in the Czech Republic and leading academic institutions, including the Faculty of Economics and Administration at Masaryk University, signed a cooperation agreement on March 11, 2025. The goal is to address urgent challenges in Czech public healthcare and strengthen collaboration in modernizing the healthcare system and education.

By signing this agreement, WHO and academic institutions commit to working together to tackle the shortage of public health professionals, modernize educational curricula, improve public health infrastructure and systems, and ultimately enhance resilience and improve the health of all citizens in the Czech Republic.

This partnership builds on strong cooperation among the participating faculties and universities and on a long-standing tradition and expertise in epidemiology and infectious disease management in the Czech Republic. At the same time, the partnership emphasizes that increasingly complex challenges require equipping public health professionals with new skills and resources.

This initiative reflects a broader effort to modernize public healthcare in the Czech Republic and ensure adequate preparation of future specialists in both medical and non-medical fields.
