Take the great opportunity to study in spring semester of 2018 at our prestigious partner universities from all over the world.

We have just started the application process. Eligible is anyone who will have completed at least two semesters of studies at the time of the exchange.

Master degree students can choose from the following universities:

Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg (Russia)
Edgewood College (USA)
University of Kansas (USA)

Scholarship to be awarded is CZK 10 000,– per month of studies, however this is to be confirmed by the ministry prior to the exchange.

Germà Bel: Investment in infrastructure is not always a blessing

Professor Germà Bel, a leading expert in public economics, infrastructure and transport policy, received an honorary doctorate from Masaryk University on 15 October 2026 following a nomination by the Faculty of Economics and Administration. In the interview, he reflects on the research interests that have shaped his academic career, his long-standing cooperation with Masaryk University and the challenges currently facing by European transport policy. He also explains what the honorary degree means to him personally and outlines the questions he would like to explore in the coming years.

The Dean of ECON MUNI presented awards for research, teaching and social contribution

As part of the ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the founding of ECON MUNI, alongside the appointment of Professor Emeritus Antonín Slaný and the presentation of bronze medals, the Dean’s Awards were also presented for outstanding academic, research and teaching achievements in 2025. The awards were received by researchers and lecturers whose work makes a significant contribution to the development of the faculty, research and education.

ECON MUNI appointed a Professor Emeritus and awarded ten bronze medals for long-standing contributions to the faculty

A formal ceremony on 19 October provided a fitting culmination to the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the faculty’s founding. In the presence of the Rector of Masaryk University and the management of ECON MUNI, academic and non-academic staff were honoured for their work, which has left its mark on the faculty’s history and contributed to its current high standing. Congratulations to all award recipients, and thank you for your past contributions as well as for the impact you will continue to make on the development of the Faculty.

At the ceremony held at the Faculty of Law, Professor Germà M. Bel Queralt, a long-standing colleague of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, was among those awarded an honorary academic title.
