Department of Law

The Department of Law was established in 2001 with the aim to provide education in legal subjects at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University, especially European law, company law, civil law, administrative law and labour law, with an emphasis on the economic and administrative specialisation of the faculty.

Teaching is provided by internal pedagogues as well as pedagogues from the Faculty of Law and legal practitioners. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the Department of Law, through the legal practitioners, tries to provide students with practical knowledge, which help to prepare students for their future profession and life, where the importance of the law has been growing.

Currently, the core of the department’s professional activity is the content innovation of teaching legal subjects, the improvement of teaching methodology, especially in part-time study. The department also cooperates with other faculties of Masaryk University in providing inter-faculty teaching of legal subjects within management-oriented specialisations. Within its scope, it participates in the preparation of new projects in cooperation with other departments of the faculty.
