I experimentally test the role of emotional responses in driving helping behavior in the strategic setting of a dynamic solidarity game based on the design of Greiner (2006). Comparing the "hot" direct-response method with the "cold" strategy method to elicit helping decisions and collecting continuous objective and subjective measures of physiological arousal and valence, I aim to understand to what extent experienced emotions drive and mediate cooperative behavior in this setting.
