Popis The Slovak Republic became a full member of the EU on May 1, 2004, together with nine other countries. With the entry, Slovak Republic became part of the developed, modern and democratic countries of Europe. As a result of accession to the EU, Slovak Republic has implemented many political, economic, social and administrative reforms, which have significantly affected the socio - economic situation of the country. In addition to these reforms, the people of Slovak Republic have also gained another opportunity to participate in the governance of public affairs at the European level - the opportunity to elect their representatives in the European Parliament. In the article, we evaluate the participation of citizens in the administration of public affairs through their participation in the elections to the European Parliament. The basis for the analysis were data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic for individual elections to the European Parliament in the Slovak Republic. The analysis showed that in Slovak Republic, elections to the European Parliament took place four times in the period 2004-2021, while the average turnout was only 18.09%.
