Popis Czech non-governmental non-profit organizations are often attributed dependence on public resources. Through the analysis of accounting data, the aim of this article is to describe the real conditions of the importance of public resources for the functioning of the selected group of homogeneous non-governmental non-profit organizations in the field of leisure and recreation. In addition to the above-mentioned analysis, I also verify the factors influencing the amount of public support allocated to these organizations. The main results of this research indicate that public resources undoubtedly represent an important source of financing and stability of the selected group of the organizations analyzed. If these resources dried up, it could limit the activities of those organizations or at least prevent the recovery of their assets. An amount of public support for a given group of organizations increases with a frequency of the younger membership base, as well as with the extent of the organizations’ expenses/costs, and also with their economic results—which is not surprising. What is surprising is the last variable, which positively influences the amount of public support: It is the number of “competing” entities from the given group of non-governmental non-profit organizations in the relevant region.
