Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF)

We are now looking for young and talented researchers to apply for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Postdoctoral Fellowship with the Faculty of Economics and Administration as the host institution. It targets researchers with a PhD who wish to conduct their research activities abroad, acquire new skills and develop their careers. In the Czech Republic, there is now a triple chance of receiving the funding for a single project:
1. Horizon
First, you may apply for funding via Horizon where projects awarded with a score higher than 93 percent are accepted.
2. ERA
Secondly, projects awarded with a mark of 90 percent will be funded via ERA.
3. Czech Structural Funds
Finally, projects that receive a mark of 70 percent or higher will automatically receive funding from Czech Structural Funds.
We offer supervision in the following areas:
AI in Finance
During your stay, you will be supervised by Štefan Lyócsa, one of our leading experts in financial risk modelling. His current research is concerned with instabilities of the financial system, market and credit risk and exploring the role of public attention and sentiment on asset price fluctuations. Štefan is interested in data-driven topics related to the modelling of extreme price fluctuations, e. g. Value at Risk, Expected Shortfall. He is research-oriented and has co-authored over 60 peer-review studies. However, he also works as an independent researcher for businesses and government institutions and enjoys teaching data analysis methods, which he has been doing for over 17 years, including preparing & leading courses.
Experimental and Behavioural Economics
During your stay, you will be supervised by Rostislav Staněk, one of our experts in experimental and behavioral economics. His research interests include reciprocity, time consistency, procedural preferences, conflict emergence and compliance, but he welcomes any other topic in the field of behavioral and experimental economics. You will become a member of Masaryk University Experimental Economics Laboratory, and you will have access to its facilities.
Labour and Health Economics
During your stay, you will be supervised by Štěpán Mikula, one of our researchers in the field of economics of migration who also conducts research on hiring discrimination and discrimination in access to public services.
Macroeconomics
During your stay, you will be supervised by Jan Čapek, one of our leading experts in macroeconomic modelling. His research is currently focused on forecasting with DSGE models and analyses of fiscal policy in various European countries. A comprehensive assessment of the predictive power of combinations of DSGE models for GDP growth, inflation, and the interest rate in the euro area has recently been published in the International Journal of Forecasting. Two studies on the estimation of empirical fiscal multipliers have been published in Oxford Journals: In one study, authors analyse the role played by data and specification choices as determinants of the size of the fiscal multipliers obtained using structural vector autoregressive models. The other study focuses on estimating fiscal multipliers for a small open economy of Austria in a framework of model uncertainty emanating from the choice of a particular econometric model.
Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management
During your stay, you will be supervised by Jakub Procházka, one of our leading experts in positive human resources management and organizational behaviour. Jakub is the head of the Department of Corporate Economy at the Faculty of Economics and Administration. His research focus lies on the border between psychology and business management with application in human resources management. He is especially interested in attitudes and well-being of employees and positive ways in which organizations can influence it. The focal constructs are leadership, autonomy at work, organizational commitment, burnout, and psychological capital. In terms of methodology, he prefers quantitative research, especially experiments and large surveys with data analysis using Structural Equations Modelling. He has published in journals such as The International Journal of Human Resources Management, Psychological Science, Judgment and Decision Making, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, or Conscientiousness and Cognition.
Mobility and Transport Economics
During your stay, you will be supervised by Zdeněk Tomeš, one of our leading experts in the field of transport economics and policy. Professor Tomeš has specialized in the areas of rail competition, modal shift, transport demand, and transport equity. He has published in journals such as Transport Policy, Research in Transportation Economics, and Journal of Transport Geography. He leads a research team at the Department of Economics. The team has many ongoing projects in cooperation with partners from the industry (Czech Railways) and intensive cooperation with foreign universities (Leeds, Milano, Florence). Public Administration
During your stay, you will be supervised by David Špaček, one of our leading experts in public administration. In his research, David focuses on public administration and public management, especially on topics like digitalization, (e-)participation, e-procurement, strategic planning and management, quality management, intermunicipal cooperation and civil services. Currently he is involved in research projects focusing on changes in public authorities implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic and systemic issues of public administration revealed by current crises. He has been actively involved in related working groups of recognized international conferences and, also, in close touch with practitioners from public administration. He also teaches related topics in courses delivered by the Faculty of Economics and Administration and is tutoring PhD candidates too.
Regional Economics
During your stay, you will be supervised by Vladimír Žítek, one of our leading experts in regional economics, spatial dimension of economic and social activities, regional innovation systems, innovation policy, economic geography, and tourism.
Business Informatics
During your stay, you will be supervised by Ahad Zareravasan, one of our leading experts in Business Informatics. Ahad ZareRavasan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Corporate Economy, Faculty of Economics and Administration. His publications appeared in acclaimed journals, such as the International Journal of Information Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Expert Systems with Applications, Information Systems, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Information Science, and Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing. His research interests include IS business value, Digital Transformation, Sustainability, Business Analytics and Blockchain.
Consumer Behaviour & Marketing Management
During your stay, you will be supervised by Prateek Kalia, one of our leading experts in the field of consumer behaviour. His research concentrates on the intersection of consumer behavior and technology with relevance to marketing management. Especially he is interested in electronic commerce with a particular focus on digital retail, electronic service quality, cyberpsychology, human-computer interactions, and smartphone use. He is very well known for his novel smartphone user classification metrics called Cellulographics© and currently working on its integration into the above-mentioned topics. Methodologically, he has published quite extensively using second-generation statistical techniques such as structural equational modeling. His research appears in journals such as the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Innovation & Knowledge, and European Management Journal.
