Students have the opportunity to apply to prestigious universities around the world every year. The selection of students takes place both directly at our faculty, where we have reserved places for our students at selected universities, and at the Center for International Cooperation, where the range of universities is wider, but the selection of students takes place on a university-wide basis, meaning you are "competing" with classmates from across the university. Therefore, if the university you have chosen is among those offered by the faculty, apply directly through the faculty, as you will have a better chance of being accepted.
For study stays in the academic year 2026/27 (both autumn and spring semesters):
ECON MUNI students who have completed at least two semesters of their bachelor's degree at the time of departure are eligible to apply. However, individual universities may have different admission requirements (required type of study, grade point average, language skills), so please review the requirements of each university.
The application consists of:
You can apply to up to three universities, ranked according to your preferences. You are applying for one semester.
The application is valid only after sending a cover letter to stepanka.lackova@econ.muni.cz.
The selection of students for the offered scholarship stays will take place at ECON MUNI based on:
The letter of motivation should include:
We also take into account the number of previous study abroad stays and the year of study in the selection process. In cases of indecision, priority is given to students who are in a higher year and have not yet completed any study abroad stays during their studies.
If you are going to study in English, you need to have a certificate (FCE, CAE, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) proving your knowledge at the B2-C1 level.
If you do not have either of the above, you can take a language test organized by the Center for International Cooperation and prove that you have the required level of English. More information about language testing and registration can be found here.
For other languages, proof of knowledge can be arranged individually (a certificate is not required).
In most cases, Masaryk University provides students with a scholarship of up to 20,000 CZK for one month of study.
However, the payment of the scholarship is conditional on the approval of the budget for the calendar year, so it is not possible to confirm the scholarship until the last minute. In case of a stay in the spring semester, we are usually able to pay the scholarship in February, so the student should be financially prepared for this possible delay.
After return, you can apply for the Scholarship programme to support mobility abroad.
After the selection process, we will forward the names of the selected applicants to the International Centre for International Cooperation, which is responsible for this program and will discuss organizational matters and nominations to partner universities with you.
At this stage, you will mainly discuss the Learning Agreement with us at the faculty. To fill it out correctly, please read the following instructions.
The Learning Agreement for all outgoing students is signed by the Vice-Dean for Internationalization, Ing. Markéta Novotná, Ph.D.
The exact procedure for applying for recognition of courses completed during a study abroad program can be found here.
Applications for recognition of courses are submitted electronically and processed by the International Office of ECON MUNI. The form in which the course will be recognized is confirmed in the Learning Agreement.
The recognition of courses/credits from foreign stays of ECON MUNI students is governed by MU Directive No. 2/2024 Rules for the Records and Recognition of Credit from Foreign Study and Traineeship Stays and Methodological Instruction of the Director of CZS MU No. 1/2024 Records and Recognition of Credit from Study and Traineeships Abroad. The relevant documents can be downloaded here.
