Recognition of study stays and internships abroad

Study stays and internships abroad are fully recognized to studies at the Faculty of Economics and Administration (ECON MUNI) based on the Learning/Training agreement approved by the Departmental Coordinator.

The authorized person and Departmental coordinator in the sense of the MU Rector's Directive No. 8/2011 is the Vice-Dean for Internationalization Ing. Markéta Novotná, Ph.D.

The International Office is responsible for processing the recognition of stays abroad.

Recognition of foreign stays

Study stays and internships abroad are fully recognized to studies at the ECON MUNI based on the Learning/Training agreement approved by the Departmental Coordinator. i.e. all subjects that are entered in the Learning agreement and that have been approved by both ECON MUNI and the receiving institution must be fully recognized.

The learning agreement contains a list of subjects enrolled at a host university and the form of their recognition at MUNI.

A course completed at a host university is recognized into studies at ECON MUNI in one of the following forms:

  • A – as the equivalent of a subject that a student has in their study plan as compulsory
  • B – as the equivalent of a subject that a student has in their study plan as a selective
  • C – as elective

If a student wants to recognize a course in A/B form (as an equivalent of a subject that they have in their study plan as compulsory or selective), it is necessary to get a consent of the guarantor of the given course at ECON MUNI and upload it to the online Learning Agreement in ISOIS . (e.g. a screenshot of the email communication, from which it is clear that the guarantor agrees with the recognition of the given course.)

Courses recognized as A/B courses are recognized with the credit value of the respective course at MUNI and a grade obtained at a host university.

Elective courses (C form of recognition) are recognized with a credit value (ECTS) and grades received at the host university.

Process for subjects’ recognition

Within 30 days after receiving the Transcript of Records from a host university, students are required to submit an application to the IS for recognition of courses from abroad. All completed subjects are then recognized according to form of recognition approved in the Learning Agreement. Elective courses are recognized with original credit value and original grade. Compulsory and selective courses are recognized with the credit value they have at MU and grade received at the host university.

Recognition of Foreign internships

The content of the internship abroad must be in accordance with the field of study. The form and scope of the internship is approved in advance in the Training agreement, which is approved and signed by the Vice-Dean and Departmental coordinator Ing. Markéta Novotná, Ph.D.

Students going on an internship are enrolled in the course XPX_ZAST Internship abroad, in which, after successfully completing the internship and submitting the Final Report, they will receive 5 ECTS for each month of the internship.
