STUDY ADVISORS

Do you have questions about courses, theses, state final exams, or other study-related issues? At that point, it's time to contact your study programme advisor.

Study advisors are teachers from each department who help students find answers to their questions related to their studies - for example:

  • What courses should I enrol in this semester?
  • What elective courses would you recommend?
  • Can you advise me on how to choose a thesis topic to focus on?
  • I would like to find more courses in a specific field. Could you please help me with finding a course/courses in this specialisation?
  • Which professors are focusing on this area of study? Could they be my supervisor?
  • I don't see the point in my studies anymore; what should I do?
  • I have these courses coming up next semester; I would need to spread them out over multiple semesters. Which ones should I take first (they are necessary to understand the other material)?
  • How do I prepare for the final state exams? What should the presentation look like? What questions may I be asked?

Please note that study advisors are not your study coordinators. They cannot enrol you in courses, give you different confirmations or excuse your absence. If you have questions which are not related to your study programme, you have to contact your study coordinator from the Office for International Relations.
