Description Rating problematic is in the Czech Republic relatively newly adjusted by Act No. 256/2004 Coll., on entrepreneurship on a capital market. This act also defines a rating agency and contents of its activity. Rating valuation represents worldwide a standard indication of economic entities’ class. It is allowed to be a proof of trustworthiness and safety of a given institution. Similar situation is in insurance industry, where rating valuation predicates to a large extent about financial health of commercial insurance company. In this paper, the rating characteristic and its relation to financial health of a commercial insurance company has been explained.
