Description The work focuses on analysis of competitive ability of the Czech economy. The first chapter deals with determination of the concept of competitive ability. The second chapter analyzes institutional aspects of the Czech economy competitive ability; its main goal is a complex analysis of institutional influences which determined economic growth from 1990 to 2005. At the beginning, the chapter concentrates on theoretical bonds between individual determinants and the actual economic growth. The subsequent subchapters then analyze development of individual fields and individual authors judge influence of their factor's development on the competitive ability of Czech economy. The third chapter named "Growth efficacy and stability" comprises of three different points of view of the whole issue, namely a) analysis of conduct development in Czech economy oriented on examination of possibilities of its growth and maintenance of stability, especially from the monetary policy and consequences of inflation structuring point of view, b) analysis of Czech economy cyclical development stemming from quantitative appraisal of the stylized facts, c) analysis of fiscal policy scrutinizing quantitative evaluation of the tax quota development. The fourth chapter "Innovative efficacy and competitive ability" focuses on the problematics of companies and their environment. This orientation pays respect to the fact that it is the competitive ability of its fundamental segments – companies, which are the primary sources of the national economics' competitive abilities, and therefore multinational integrations, too.
