Description Research, development and innovations play a crucial role in sustainable development of each country. Economic theory and practical policy put great emphasis on innovation collaboration, which accelerates innovation processes and enables introduction of more complex innovations. The aim of this paper is to analyse the level of collaboration on research projects conducted in the Czech Republic. The analysis is carried out on the example of Alfa programme that is administered by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. This contribution assesses the research projects according to extend of collaboration, sectors, regions and legal forms. It also deals with analysis of collaboration and network creation. The analysis is based on data gained from the Technology Agency and it uses the methods of descriptive statistics. The ties between partners are evaluated through methods of social network analysis and are visualized in program Gephi. The results of the analysis show that Prague has a significantly central role in this program and many ties between partners lead from here to all regions in the Czech Republic. The second most important centre is Brno, although it has rather regional influence. It also emerges that the collaboration between private organizations and knowledge institutions has taken place in most projects.
